Holy Spirit Conference in Spain

"'In the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all people" (Acts 2:17). Spain is experiencing a mighty outpouring of God's Spirit upon the church; a real 21st Century Pentecost. In July, Ernie and Sandra Peacock, AGWM personnel, ministered in 16 evangelistic services and two Holy Spirit Conference weekends where dozens came to a saving knowledge of Christ, and over 30 believers were baptized in the Holy Spirit. There are numerous testimonies of physical healings, and many have experienced powerful emotional and spiritual breakthroughs. In the Madrid conference, one young man was totally set free and baptized in the Holy Spirit after battling with demons for several months. The Peacocks have conducted about ten Holy Spirit conferences this year alone, and have witnessed over 300 people, from 7 years to 70 years old, being baptized in the Holy Spirit. The conferences can be a 2 or 3 day event, and include 2 to 3 Holy Spirit workshops teaching on the "Who is, Why we need it, and How to receive" the Holy Spirit. Evening and Sunday morning services focus on signs, wonders, and miracles, as well as praying for those who desire to be filled or refilled with the Spirit's presence and power. The Heavens have opened over Spain, and the fire of God is falling upon those seeking more of His presence and power!

The Country Lanes in Spain

So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. Luke 14:23 (NLT) The master’s generosity extended beyond the borders of his town. He told his servants to go beyond the town to the country roads and even look behind the hedges to find people to come to his feast. In Spain this same desire is reflected in church planting efforts by the churches from larger towns and cities reaching out to small towns. Brian and Ruthie Gomez, AGWM personnel relate the following:

“The church we partner with in Seville has helped to plant a church in Aracena. In and around Aracena are about 30,000 people living in about 20 small towns. This church plant is the only Spanish evangelical church in the area.

“Often the work in the small towns or ‘pueblos’ is difficult. Many view the evangelical church with suspicion and are guarded to our message. Some of our work has been to support and encourage pastors in these difficult places to reach.

“I also preached in a town called Lebrija which is an ancient city settled by the Phoenicians well before the time of Christ. The pastors, Adolfo and Lydia, are a sharp young couple with two young children. They, like so many pastors here, sacrifice to serve both their congregations and support their families.

“Currently in Spain there are around 10 million people without access to an evangelical church. Many of them live in small towns. Pray for the Spanish A/G and other churches as they fulfill the call of God to ‘go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and compel them to come in’”.

On July 4, thirty people were baptized in water at Bethel Church (Iglesia Betel)in Zaragoza, Spain. Since September of last year, over 140 have been baptized in water at the church. The next water baptism service is scheduled for September 26, where already 60 persons are scheduled to be baptized. Bethel Church (Iglesia Betel) in Zaragoza, pastored by José María Romo and his wife Reyes Escobar, meets at six different campuses ministering to a total of over 2,000 believers. Evangelism and World Missions are core beliefs of the church, with weekly outdoor evangelism taking place simultaneously throughout the city during most of the year, especially the summer months. Both Spaniards and Latin Americans living in Spain are responding to the preaching of the Gospel and receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior into their lives.

Dreams come true in Spain

The first woman to complete the two-year program at the Project Rescue Spain safe home just got married! What a story of redemption and dreams come true! She was a victim of human trafficking and suffered a great deal, but God has redeemed her life. He has brought healing to her soul, provided her with marketable job skills, as well as her legal documents. She has married a fine Christian man and her desire is that God will use her to minister to others.

After two years of serving over 40 women at risk and victims of human trafficking in residential and external care programs, the Project Rescue Spain safe home is relocating to a new location where up to ten women can be housed.  Caring for those outside the home will also continue.  Volunteers have helped to prepare the new house for the women who will call it ‘home’!

In addition to providing for the women’s physical, psychological, social and emotional needs, they are also taught skills that will lead them to jobs with dignity. The women create beautiful jewelry which is not only therapeutic, but these creative sessions are also very relational and unifying for the women in the home.  It boosts their self-esteem to see they can create lovely necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that others love to purchase.  With all the offerings of the Project Rescue Spain safe home, women’s lives are being rescued and changed.
