Taking the Gospel to the Streets of Spain

Twenty evangelists took to the streets of the cities of Zamora and Toro on Good Friday. Since it is a holiday in Spain, the streets were packed. Thousands received Gospel tracts, heard Matthew chapters 26, 27 and 28 read aloud, heard singing and the preaching of the Gospel.

Bill and Diane Jackson, AGWM personnel in Spain relate the story of one young man.  “His name is Cesar.  He is from Zamora, but had moved away to Zaragoza.  It was in Zaragoza where he came to know the Lord.  But since coming back to Zamora, Cesar had become too busy for God.

“Cesar was challenged when he saw us out there on Santa Clara, the main walking street here in Zamora. He was impressed with our willingness to be out there openly proclaiming the Gospel.   He received a tract, folded it and put it in his pocket and then read it when he got home.   He knew that he needed to come back to the Lord.  He knew that he wanted to go to the church whose members he had seen out there openly preaching and singing about Christ.   He was in church on Easter, at Tuesday night prayer meeting and at the Bible study night.  He said that he would be there on Sunday morning for our discipleship class.  The Lord is drawing him back to himself.”

IMG_115.jpgBill goes on to say, “Cesar’s story was a confirmation of what I told a man, a friend of mine, who came up to me and told me that we were giving a very bad impression by being out there on the street.  I told him that without a doubt some would think that we were fanatics.  I told him others would be convinced of the truth of our message because we were willing to be out there proclaiming it.  I don’t think that man was convinced that I was right. “But Cesar’s experience confirmed that I was right.  Some are looking for a truth worth living for, or dying for.”  Jesus is that TRUTH!
